Robert E. Rosenthal, Esq.
Mr. Rosenthal practices in domestic and international patents, trademarks,
trade secrets and copyrights. Mr. Rosenthal's practice includes patent
preparation and prosecution and advising on patent infringement and validity
issues; advising on trademark availability and infringement issues and
prosecution of trademark registration applications; conducting and supervising
intellectual property due diligence and drafting and negotiation of intellectual
property agreement provisions in connection with mergers and acquisitions;
advice and strategy on copyright protection and avoidance of infringement;
drafting and negotiating of agreements involving computer hardware and
software acquisitions and intellectual property licensing; and advising
on protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
His patent practice has covered a wide range of technologies, including
sensing devices and instrumentation, business methods including financial
services, digital television, medical rehabilitation equipment, vascular
access devices, illumination and imaging devices, signal processing, software
for server management, semiconductor devices, and semiconductor device
fabrication methods and inspection equipment.
Mr. Rosenthal is active in bar association activities, including past service
as Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Intellectual Property Section
and as Secretary of the PBA Civil Litigation Section. He speaks regularly
in continuing legal education programs, and has served as a frequent moderator
for programs for the International Trademark Association and the Civil
Litigation Section of the American Bar Association, as well as onthe Intellectual
Property Advisory Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
Mr. Rosenthal was previously Partner with an AmLaw 100 law firm. He holds
a bachelor's degree in physics from Princeton University and received
his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
